Overview

This walking tour in downtown Santa Barbara lasts about 3 and a half hours and is led by a local guide. It starts on State Street and moves through several notable downtown areas, including the El Paseo Building, where the group visits a local wine tasting room to sample 3 to 4 wines along with a shared grazing box. Participants will also walk by Casa de la Guerra grounds and learn about its history without entering the home. The route continues past the Santa Barbara County Courthouse and the Arlington Theatre, with stops to discuss their histories. When time allows, the group visits inside the Granada Theatre and the courthouse, though entrance is not guaranteed. The walking path includes the Historic La Arcada Courtyard, where guests can see statues and a turtle pond. Depending on the route and timing, the tour may also pass by El Presidio de Santa Barbara State Historic Park. Throughout the tour, guests taste local food and wine, with beverages including water and one non-alcoholic drink provided. The tour is designed to mostly skip long lines at tasting locations. Group sizes are smaller than before COVID to allow a more personal experience. The tour does not start and end at the same place and can accommodate many food allergies if notified in advance. Private and corporate tours are available for those with health or mobility concerns.
