Overview

The tour begins in front of the Sky Bar near Pile Gate, where the guide introduces the group before starting a walking tour through Dubrovnik’s Old Town. Over about one and a half hours, the guide leads visitors along limestone streets, sharing the city’s history dating back 1,400 years. Highlights include Orlando’s Column, the Franciscan Monastery, Onofrio’s Fountain - built in 1438 at the end of a 12-kilometer aqueduct - Rector’s Palace, Sponza Palace, the Cathedral of the Assumption, and the City Bell Tower. After the Old Town walk, the group gathers briefly in Brsalje Square for a summary and an overview of the next part of the tour. Then the guide meets guests again near Pile Gate to begin the city walls tour. Visitors purchase tickets on their own (not included) before walking the 2-kilometer ancient city walls, originally constructed in the 14th century as defensive structures. During the walls walk, lasting about two hours, the guide explains the walls’ historical role in protecting Dubrovnik. Participants see Fort Revelin and Minceta Tower within the walls and view Fort Lovrijenac from a distance. Views of the Adriatic Sea and the Old Town port are visible along the route. The tour concludes near the old town port. This combined walking tour lasts around three and a half hours, led by a licensed English-speaking guide with audio headsets provided for groups of four or more.
