Overview

This half-day tour lasts about five hours and includes round-trip pickup and drop-off from selected areas in San Juan, including Old San Juan, Condado, and Isla Verde. The journey to El Yunque National Park takes approximately one hour each way, depending on traffic. The tour begins at El Portal Visitor's Center in El Yunque National Forest, where visitors spend about one hour exploring interactive exhibits about the rainforest's plants and animals. Guests can see live Puerto Rican parrots, walk a short accessible trail featuring tropical flowers, and visit the gift shop. The guide provides information on the forest's significance to the indigenous Taíno people. Next, the group travels to La Coca Waterfall to view the 85-foot cascade and take photographs. The tour continues with a visit to other areas within El Yunque National Forest. Guests climb 98 spiral steps to reach the top of the Yocahú Observation Tower, located approximately 1,500 feet above sea level, offering wide views of the surrounding forest. Depending on timing and group pace, there may be an additional stop at Angelito Trail or a similar site to see another waterfall or river, but this is not guaranteed. The tour includes live narration in English, a certified guide, bottled water, light snacks, entrance fees to the forest, all taxes, and first aid equipment. It operates in all weather conditions and involves no hiking, making it suitable for all ages. Car seats for children under seven are available upon prior request. No lunch stop is included.
