Overview

The tour begins with pickup from your accommodation in Porto by an expert guide who drives you in an air-conditioned minibus to Fátima, a major religious site in Portugal known for the Marian apparitions of 1917. At Fátima, you have free time to visit the Sanctuary, the Basilica, and the Chapel of the Apparitions. The guide leads a visit to the homes of the three shepherd children - Francisco, Jacinta, and Lúcia - where five of the six apparitions occurred. The chapel, built in 1919 by local residents, stands at the heart of the sanctuary. After spending about two hours in Fátima, the tour continues to Coimbra. Here, you take a walking tour of the historic center, including the University Courtyard and the Cathedral. This stop lasts about an hour and a half, allowing time to explore the streets and learn about the academic and cultural life of the city. The entire trip lasts around 10 hours and includes round-trip transportation in a comfortable minibus and a professional guide with detailed knowledge of the destinations. Entrance fees to the shepherd children’s houses are included. Food, drinks, lunch, gratuities, and hotel pickup or drop-off are not included. After your tour, you can join a free walking tour of Porto’s historic center on a separate day if you wish.
