Overview

The Mekong Delta, known for its network of rivers and lush landscapes, is the focus of this full-day boat tour departing from Ho Chi Minh City. The tour lasts about nine hours and includes visits to several key locations along the river. The day begins around 8:00 AM with pickup and a 1.5-hour drive to Vinh Trang Pagoda. This 19th-century temple combines European and Asian architectural styles and is ranked third in importance among southern Vietnamese pagodas. After 45 minutes at the pagoda, the group proceeds to My Tho Cruise Port to board a boat on the Tien River. The boat travels past the four islets of Long, Lan, Qui, and Phung, floating fish rafts, and the Rach Mieu Bridge. Visitors then reach Thoi Son Island (Lan Island), where they walk along village roads, visit local homes and fruit gardens, see a honey bee farm, and drink honey lemon tea. Traditional Southern Vietnamese folk music (Don Ca Tai Tu Xu Dua) is played while fresh fruit is served. Guests can row small boats through narrow canals lined by two rows of natural coconut trees and view the garden landscape. The visit ends with a stop at a coconut candy shop where the candy-making process and coconut handicrafts are demonstrated. Afterward, the tour moves to Ben Tre Province for a lunch featuring a traditional Vietnamese set menu with a vegetarian option. Post-lunch, visitors may relax, fish for crocodiles, cross a monkey bridge, rest in hammocks, or cycle along village roads. Around 2:30 PM, the group returns to My Tho by boat and then travels back to Ho Chi Minh City, arriving around 5:00 PM with drop-off at either 165 Pham Ngu Lao Street or Ben Thanh Market. An English/Vietnamese-speaking guide accompanies guests throughout the day. Included are boat trips, rowing boats, traditional music, fresh fruit, honey tea, lunch, bottled water, and air-conditioned transport.
