Overview

This full-day boat tour from Trou d'Eau Douce takes you to five islands along Mauritius's east coast, ending with a visit to Ile aux Cerfs. The trip begins with hotel pickup anywhere on the island, followed by a drive to Blue Bay village. From there, you'll board a speedboat to explore the Blue Bay Marine Park, where you can snorkel for about an hour among more than 50 coral species and diverse fish in clear waters averaging 5.5 meters deep. Next, the boat stops at the Dalbair shipwreck off Pointe d'Esny, which has been underwater since 1902. After this, you head to Ile aux Aigrettes to enjoy a cocktail and swim in a natural lagoon known for its starfish. The tour continues to Ile aux Phare, where you have time to visit the 1864 lighthouse ruins or walk around the rocky island that played a role in the Battle of Grand Port. The speedboat then approaches Ile de la Passe, a small islet with ruins of French and British colonial defenses dating back 250 years. While passing Ilot Vacoas, you proceed to Ile aux Flamands, where you spend about 30 minutes relaxing on white sandy beaches and snorkeling in the lagoon. A visit to the Grand River South East Waterfalls follows, where the boat sails close to the falls and you may see monkeys and fruit bats in the surrounding trees. The main stop is Ile aux Cerfs, where you have two hours to swim, walk, snorkel, or join optional water sports (extra cost). Around noon, a three-course BBQ lunch with vegetarian options is served on Margenie Islet, including a selection of unlimited alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The meal is accompanied by live sega music and dance, with an open bar and a banane flambe dessert prepared by the crew. The tour concludes with a high-speed coastal cruise back to Blue Bay and hotel drop-off, arriving around 4:30 PM. The guide and driver provide private, air-conditioned transport throughout the day.
