Overview

Northern Ireland's landscapes served as key filming locations for Game of Thrones. This hiking tour departs from Dublin and lasts about 11 hours, visiting several significant Winterfell sites south of Belfast. The tour begins at the Hilton Garden Inn in Dublin, where participants meet at 7:45 AM. From there, the group travels to Tollymore Forest Park for a 3-kilometer walk through ancient woodland, exploring scenes used in the series. After the morning trek, the tour stops at Strangford Lough for a one-hour lunch break by the port. Following lunch, the group visits Old Castle Ward at 2 PM, the Winterfell location in season 1, with a walking tour covering places like Walder Frey's Twins and Robb Stark's camp in the Riverlands. Later, there is a photo stop at Inch Abbey, the 12th-century ruins where Robb Stark was declared King in the North. The final stop, weather permitting, is a one-hour visit to Hilltown’s Hen Mountain. This location features the filming site of Dunk burying Ser Arlan of Pennytree from the episode 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.' The walk includes a 30-minute incline to reach the exposed, wind-swept filming spot. The tour includes Stark cloaks, swords, shields, and banners for all participants, as well as behind-the-scenes video clips and tablets showing visual effects breakdowns. Entrance fees and all extras are covered, but lunch and any merchandise are not included. The minimum age to join is 18 years.
