Overview

This full-day bus tour from Amsterdam visits three well-known Dutch sites: Zaanse Schans, Afsluitdijk, and Giethoorn. The trip starts with a two-hour stop at Zaanse Schans, where you visit a cheese factory to see traditional cheese making and taste over 26 varieties. Next, you tour a wooden shoes workshop and watch a live clog-making demonstration. You also attend a guided royal diamond demonstration showcasing a diamond with 268 cuts. There is free time at Zaanse Schans to take photos near the windmills. Around midday, the tour stops at Afsluitdijk for about half an hour. You will learn about the construction of this long dike, view the North Sea and IJsselmeer lake, and take photos. Note that the monument is under renovation and the observation tower is closed, so views are limited. In the afternoon, you spend roughly three to four hours in Giethoorn, known as the 'Little Venice' of the Netherlands. The tour includes a one-hour boat cruise on the canals. If preferred, you can rent a boat to drive yourself for an extra fee. The group travels in a Mercedes mini bus with air conditioning and a maximum of eight passengers. The tour includes hotel pickup in Amsterdam and provides one bottle of water per traveler. Lunch is not included.
