Overview

This private tour in Giza covers the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Great Sphinx, and the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) over about 7 to 8 hours. It begins at the Giza Pyramids complex, where visitors see the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the only remaining Wonder of the Ancient World, along with the Pyramid of Khafre and the smaller Pyramid of Menkaure. The tour includes a three-hour visit to these monuments just outside Cairo. Next, the Great Sphinx is visited for about 30 minutes. This large limestone statue, with a lion’s body and a pharaoh’s head, is near the pyramids and dates back to around 2500 BCE. Finally, the tour continues to the Grand Egyptian Museum, located next to the pyramids. The museum holds over 100,000 artifacts, including the full collection of Tutankhamun’s treasures displayed together for the first time. The visit lasts about three hours and also features a large Ramses II statue, conservation laboratories, and galleries covering ancient Egyptian history up to the Greco-Roman period. The tour includes a private Egyptologist guide, air-conditioned transport, bottled water, and entry fees if selected. Lunch is included only on the all-inclusive option. Optional extras and tips are not included. The schedule allows some remaining time for travel between stops.
