Overview

This small-group tour lasts about nine hours and starts with a pickup from a selected location in Reykjavík. The first stop is Þingvellir National Park, where visitors spend around 40 minutes exploring the rift valley between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates and the site of Iceland’s first parliament, Althingi. The tour then continues along the Golden Circle route to Gullfoss waterfall, allowing about 40 minutes to view the two-tiered waterfall that drops 32 meters into a canyon carved by the Hvíta River, which is fed by the Langjökull glacier. Next, the group visits the Geysir geothermal area for one hour, where bubbling pools, steam vents, and the active Strokkur geyser, erupting every 4 to 10 minutes to heights of 15 to 20 meters, can be seen. After the Geysir area, the tour proceeds to the Secret Lagoon for approximately 90 minutes. This is Iceland’s oldest man-made geothermal pool, located in moss-covered lava fields, with water temperatures between 38 and 40°C and a small geyser nearby. Swimming is possible if participants bring or rent swimwear. The final sightseeing stop is Kerið Crater, where visitors have 20 minutes to walk around the volcanic crater, which is 270 meters wide and contains a blue-green lake surrounded by red volcanic rock. Seasonal changes affect the crater’s appearance throughout the year. After visiting Kerið, the tour returns to Reykjavík for drop-off at the original pickup location. The tour includes onboard WiFi, an English-speaking guide, air conditioning in the vehicle, entrance to the Secret Lagoon, and pickup and drop-off in Reykjavík. Lunch, swimsuits, towels, and snacks are not included.
