Overview

This full-day bus tour from Medellín lasts about 10 hours and includes a bilingual guide who explains paisa culture and local flavors. The trip passes the relocated new Peñol town, built after the dam was constructed. In Guatapé, the group spends an hour exploring the colorful town and walking along the lake shore. From there, a boat ride on Guatapé Dam heads to a private island where visitors can swim and relax in nature for about 45 minutes. After the boat ride, the tour stops at Peñol Rock, a 220-meter-high monolith. Visitors have around 60 minutes to climb or explore the area and enjoy the 360-degree views of the lake and surrounding landscape. The tour includes breakfast, snacks, tea and coffee, lunch at a local farm buffet, souvenir, and air-conditioned transport in a small group. Entrance to Peñol Rock is not included in the price.
