Overview

This full-day bus tour lasts about 14 and a half hours, starting and ending in Reykjavik. It includes guided visits to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach, with stops along the South Coast. The tour begins with a drive east from Reykjavik, passing the Eyjafjallajökull volcano, known for its 2010 eruption and glacier cap. Next, the group stops at Skógafoss waterfall for 25 minutes to view its 60-meter cascade and hear the local legend about a Viking treasure behind the falls. A 40-minute lunch break takes place in the village of Freysnes, surrounded by views of southern mountains and glaciers. After lunch, the tour continues to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon for about 80 minutes, where blue waters hold drifting icebergs from the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier, with depths over 248 meters. A 15-minute stop follows at Diamond Beach, where icebergs wash up on black volcanic sand. The group then spends 45 minutes in the coastal village of Vík, known for its black sand beaches and basalt sea stacks, allowing time for dinner. Next is Seljalandsfoss waterfall for 25 minutes, where visitors can walk behind the water curtain framed by a natural alcove. A short 20-minute stop in Hvolsvöllur allows time to stretch before the return to Reykjavik. The tour includes onboard WiFi, a professional guide, and pickup and drop-off from Reykjavik, with cruise port pickup available if selected. Food and drinks are not included. The tour operates in cold weather, so warm clothing and rain gear are recommended.
