Overview

The Hanoi City Tour Highlight combines visits to Train Street and the countryside in a four-and-a-half-hour tour. The tour starts with a pickup from the hotel or a meeting point at 44 Hang Bong Street. Guests board an open-air jeep and receive a briefing on the itinerary. The jeep first drives through the Old Quarter for about 20 minutes, allowing guests to see traditional narrow streets and small alleys from the back of the jeep. Next, the jeep travels to Ba Dinh Square and the French Quarter, where the guide explains Hanoi’s history while passing French colonial architecture. The jeep continues along Dien Bien Phu Street, passing the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Presidential Palace, and government buildings. There are stops totaling about 30 minutes to learn about these landmarks. Afterward, the jeep moves to Tay Ho (West Lake), one of Hanoi’s largest lakes, for about one hour. Visitors see modern buildings and a monument to John McCain. Then the jeep travels along back roads to Banana Island, part of the Red River countryside. On the island, guests visit a local family’s home to observe rural life and sample tropical fruit provided by the hosts. The jeep continues north along West Lake, stopping at a viewpoint overlooking Hanoi and passing Ho Tay Water Park. The group visits the 1,000-year-old Van Mieu Pagoda for about one hour. The tour proceeds to B52 Lake and the main gate of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, with a stop lasting about 40 minutes. The final destination is Duờng Tau, known as Train Street, where guests leave the jeep to walk along the railway tracks for approximately 45 minutes. Here, they can take photos and enjoy coffee at a local shop before having lunch. The tour includes hotel pickup and drop-off, a professional guide, a driver, snacks, lunch, and use of a helmet for the Vespa ride to West Lake. Vegetarian meal options are available upon request.
