by Hanoi Coffee Workshop: Make Taste 5 Signature Brews+History Story by Su Quan Roastery
This three-hour workshop takes place inside an Indochine-style villa located in a quiet alley in Hanoi. The session is led by three experts: a certified trainer who has coached head baristas at luxury hotels, the founder of Sử Quán Roastery who focuses on Vietnamese coffee heritage, and a coffee enthusiast passionate about sharing Vietnam’s brews. Participants receive a hands-on introduction to brewing six iconic Vietnamese coffee styles using all the necessary equipment provided in an air-conditioned room. The workshop includes detailed explanations of nine coffee recipes and features three tastings of Vietnamese coffee liquors. Cultural storytellers fluent in English guide attendees through each step of the process, sharing information about the history and cultural significance of Vietnamese coffee from bean to cup. Included are unlimited mineral water, a complimentary herbal welcome drink, a local snack served during the session, and dedicated butler service to assist guests. Luggage storage is available for up to three days. Because the workshop involves tasting multiple coffee brews and liquors, it is recommended to eat a light meal before attending.
Indochine-Villa Coffee Introduction
Enter an Indochine-style villa tucked away in a quiet Hanoi alley to explore the beginnings of Vietnamese coffee. A trainer with over 10 years of experience explains how coffee was brought to Vietnam, how it is cultivated, and its role within the World Coffee Belt. Participants examine various coffee bean types, roasting techniques, and brewing tools, learning to identify genuine, quality beans and the factors that contribute to an excellent cup. The session includes hands-on preparation of six traditional Vietnamese coffee drinks: coffee brewed with a phin filter, egg coffee, iced coffee sweetened with condensed milk, coconut coffee, pour-over coffee, and a signature cocktail combining local wine and jam. These beverages are served with pastries in a garden setting. A portion of the proceeds supports education for children at a Da Lat coffee farm maintained by families for generations. The villa accommodates up to 100 guests; groups larger than 15 should notify in advance.
