Overview

Edinburgh’s Greyfriars Kirkyard is the starting point of this walking tour that lasts about an hour and a half. The guide leads the group through Greyfriars Kirkyard, where the story of Greyfriar's Bobby, the dog who guarded his owner's grave, is told along with information about notable people buried there and the graveyard’s history. The tour then continues to the Niddry Street underground vaults beneath Edinburgh's South Bridge. These vaults once sheltered poor residents, criminals, and others, and are reputed to be haunted. Visitors learn about the vaults’ dark past and reported paranormal events. The tour is on foot and includes a professional guide but no other admissions or extras.
