Book on Viator Confirmed right away, but you pay full price.$1,850.82This two-hour tour starts with a helicopter flight from the Anchorage area over glaciers and icebergs. Wildlife such as moose, black bears, Dall sheep, and mountain goats can often be seen during the flight. The helicopter lands on a large snowfield high on the Knik Glacier, where guests spend about one hour with Alaskan sled dogs and their mushers, who live there throughout the summer. Participants take a dogsled ride on snow lasting approximately 30 minutes. They can either stand on the runners and mush their own dog team or sit on the sled while the mushers guide the dogs. After dogsledding, the helicopter flies to a landing on the lower part of the Knik Glacier. Here, guests spend around 30 minutes exploring the hard ice surface among crevasses and blue melt pools. The tour includes helicopter flightseeing, a guided glacier walk, all fees and taxes, a dogsled ride on snow, and waterproof overboots to keep shoes dry. Guests must bring waterproof outerwear and warm layers. Transfers to the departure location are not included but can be arranged for an additional fee.
