This half-day small-group bus trip starts with a pickup in downtown Oaxaca City and lasts about six hours. The tour includes private transportation in a six-passenger vehicle with air conditioning and an English- and Spanish-speaking guide. Bottled water and hiking poles are provided for the walk. The main stop is Hierve el Agua, located about 70 kilometers from Oaxaca City, reached after a one-and-a-half-hour drive. At Hierve el Agua, the group hikes to several viewpoints to see the petrified waterfalls formed by calcium carbonate deposits over thousands of years. The hike continues to the base of the waterfalls for closer views before heading to the natural pools where swimming and relaxing are allowed. The tour includes all entrance and toll fees but does not include lunch. After visiting Hierve el Agua and enjoying time at the pools, the group returns to Oaxaca City.
