This half-day cycling tour in Himeji lasts about five and a half hours and includes a local guide, lunch, and entrance fees. Participants meet at Himeji Station to begin riding through the castle town. The first stop is a Japanese sweets shop with over 300 years of history, where guests can sample "Tamatsubaki," a traditional confection once offered to the castle lords. Next, the tour visits Himeji Castle, also called Shirasagi-jo or White Egret Castle, where visitors enter the castle and learn about its architecture, history, and cultural importance from the early Edo period. The castle and its grounds are designated national treasures, a national special historic site, and a UNESCO World Heritage site. After exploring the castle for about two hours, the group cycles to a local restaurant for a Japanese lunch. Following the meal, riders visit Otokoyama Hachimangu Shrine, which provides a vantage point to photograph Himeji Castle from behind. The final stop is Koko-en, a Daimyo garden where guests relax with a cup of tea while exploring the garden grounds. The tour ends back at Himeji Station. The bike rental is included, and guests may continue using the rental bikes after the tour but must return them by 6:00 PM.
