The San José del Cabo Historical and Cultural Walking Tour lasts about one and a half hours and covers approximately one mile on mostly flat terrain suitable for wheelchairs and strollers. The tour begins at Free Tour Cabo & Other Tours on Álvaro Obregón Street in the Art District downtown, where participants meet for 15 minutes. The guide then leads a 10-minute stop at San José's Estuary and Bird Sanctuary, viewing the estuary from the outside. Next, the group spends 20 minutes outside the Misión San José del Cabo church, learning about its history without entering the building. The tour continues with a 15-minute visit to Plaza Mijares to see the Obelisk of Mijares, followed by a 30-minute exploration of sculptures representing some of the town's most iconic figures. Throughout the walk, the guide provides information about the peninsula's geology, native lifestyles, colonization, local legends, and cultural highlights. The tour is part A of a two-part series, with part B covering additional historical and cultural sites such as the main square battle, hotels, and local celebrities on a separate day.
