Overview

This private walking tour lasts about four hours and takes place in the evening in Ho Chi Minh City. Your local street food guide will pick you up by taxi from your hotel in districts 1, 3, 4, 5, or 10, or from the Opera House. The tour begins outside the main tourist areas and moves into a street food neighborhood known for its authentic local cuisine. You will try nine different dishes, including Central and Southern Vietnamese rice pancakes called Banh Xeo and Banh Khot, served with fresh vegetables. The tour continues along a street famous for barbecue seafood vendors, stopping at a local restaurant to taste "bo la lot" (beef wrapped in wild betel leaves) or "banh canh Trang Bang," a special pork noodle soup or thick noodle soup with codfish pie from the guide's village. Next, you'll explore alleys in the street food district to sample "bot chien," pan-fried rice cakes with egg and spring onions, prepared by a chef with over 25 years of experience. Refresh with sugar cane juice mixed with orange. You will also try Banh Mi, the Saigon-style baguette known for its blend of four flavors. The walk continues to Nguyen Thien Thuat in district 3, an area with old apartments and many street food vendors. Here, you will sit among locals to eat barbecue seafood, or barbecue meat if allergic, accompanied by local drinks like Saigon special beer, soft drinks, mineral water, and homemade Vietnamese banana sticky rice wine brewed in a clay pot by Street Food Man Vinny. The tour ends at the night flower market, where you can enjoy a dessert choice of coconut ice cream, longan ice cream, or flan cake with caramel and coffee. Afterward, the guide will take you back to your accommodation by taxi. The tour includes all food and drinks, transportation by taxi, rain poncho if needed, hand sanitizer and face masks, accident insurance, pictures from the tour, and private guide service with no other guests joining.
