Overview
The Alpine Zoo in Innsbruck is located at 750 meters elevation, making it the highest zoo in Europe. It is easily accessible from the city center. The zoo is home to animals such as lynx, eagles, fish, birds, wolves, and bears. During spring, visitors can often see young animals born that season. The zoo also features a petting area with rare and local species of cows, pigs, goats, and sheep. This ticket includes a round-trip ride on the Hungerburgbahn funicular, which departs from Station Congress near Innsbruck’s center and takes about five minutes to reach Station Alpine Zoo. After spending about two hours at the zoo, visitors can return on the funicular to the city. Tickets must be redeemed only at Station Congress, the funicular’s starting point; redemption is not possible at the zoo itself. The ticket covers zoo entry, Hungerburgbahn fees, and all taxes and handling charges. Hotel pickup, food, drinks, and a guide are not included.
