Overview

Istanbul is known for its intricate mosaic art, and this workshop in the Old Town offers a chance to create a Turkish mosaic lamp yourself. The session lasts about two and a half hours and takes place in a local workshop. It starts with an introduction covering the history and craftsmanship of mosaic lamps. Participants receive all necessary materials, including a glass globe, lamp body, lid, mosaic stones, glass beads in over 33 colors, LED bulb, glue, gloves, and a US adapter. Skilled instructors provide step-by-step guidance to help craft a traditional mosaic design on a glass sphere. No prior experience is required. During the session, snacks, tea, and coffee are provided. After completing the mosaic design, there is free time to enjoy a drink while the lamp dries. The workshop staff then assemble the final lamp pieces to ensure it is ready to take home. Protective packaging and a bag are included for safe transport.
