Amer Fort is divided into four courtyards constructed by different kings over a period exceeding 100 years. Visitors will see the famous Mirror Palace, where walls and ceilings are decorated with mirrors imported from Belgium, along with fresco paintings and inlaid white marble work.

Panna Meena Stepwell

A short distance from Amer Fort is Panna Meena ka Kund, a stepwell built in the 16th century. This site served as a place for religious gatherings and is known for its artistic stepped design. It is located in Amer town.

3

Jal Mahal

After visiting Amer Fort and Panna Meena ka Kund, the tour continues towards Jaipur with a stop at Jal Mahal, or Water Palace. Built in 1799 AD, this palace sits in the middle of a lake and is located 3 kilometers from Amer Fort on the way to Jaipur. It was used by Jaipur’s kings as a summer residence during hot weather. Access inside the palace was only possible by boat. Although tourists cannot enter the palace, there is an opportunity to stop and take photographs.

4

City Palace

Following the photo stop at Jal Mahal, the tour visits City Palace located within Jaipur’s Pink City. This palace was the royal family’s residence, and since 1959, a large portion has been converted into a museum. Exhibits include the Diwan-I-Aam (Hall of Public Audience), Diwan-I-Khaas (Hall of Private Audience), Mubarak Mahal or Textile Gallery, Arms and Weapons Gallery, Pritam Niwas, and Peacock Gate. Visitors can also see Persian hand-knotted carpets, the king’s silver throne, a crystal chandelier from Yugoslavia, fresco paintings on walls and ceilings, a private photo gallery, and the world’s largest silver urns as recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. The guide provides historical context about Jaipur’s kings.

5

Jantar Mantar Observatory

A short walk from City Palace leads to Jantar Mantar, a UNESCO World Heritage site also known as the observatory, built in the early 18th century. It contains astrological and astronomical instruments used to observe the movements of stars and planets. Visitors learn how time was measured using sundials and how horoscopes were created with these instruments. The Vrihad Samrat Yantra is the largest sundial in the observatory, and the Jai Prakash Yantra is considered the most interesting instrument. After the visit, the group returns to the hotel.

6

Hawa Mahal

The guide and driver meet in the morning to visit Hawa Mahal for photographs. Also called the Palace of Winds, it was built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. The five-story structure features 953 small windows arranged in a lattice pattern. This design allows air to circulate through the inner chambers, providing a cooling effect inside even during hot weather.

15 min

7

Jaigarh Fort

Jaigarh Fort is located atop Cheel ka Teela, or Hill of Eagles. The fort includes palaces with courtrooms, triple-arched gateways, temples, gardens, an armory chamber, and a central watchtower offering views of the surrounding area. The main feature of the fort is the Jaivana cannon, which was once the largest wheeled cannon in the world and remains on display within the fort.

120 min

8

Nahargarh Fort

Nahargarh Fort has overlooked Jaipur for nearly 300 years. It was part of Jaipur’s defensive ring along with Jaigarh and Amer forts. The royal family used Nahargarh as a hunting retreat. Its fortification walls extended those of Jaigarh Fort, connecting the two. Visitors can also enjoy views of Jaipur city from this location.

9

Royal Gaitor Tumba

Royal Gaitor Tumba is the cremation site for Rajasthan’s Maharajas, situated at the foothills of Nahargarh Fort. The site features royal cenotaphs that combine Islamic and Hindu architectural styles. Each cenotaph’s carvings reflect the preferences of the respective Maharaja. The cenotaph of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II is notable for its white marble and detailed carvings. Unlike other Jaipur attractions, this site is less crowded and offers a quiet place for relaxation. The evening is free for leisure or visiting local markets for textiles, handicrafts, carpets, and paintings. The tour concludes with a drive back to the hotel.
