This full-day tour lasts about eight hours and covers major historical and cultural sites in and around Amman. The visit to Amman lasts two hours and includes stops at the Archaeological Museum, Folklore Museum, the Citadel, the Blue Mosque, and the Amphitheatre. After exploring these sites, the tour continues to Jerash, where a local guide leads a two-hour walk through the ancient Roman city. Visitors will see paved and colonnaded streets, hilltop temples, theaters, public squares, plazas, baths, fountains, and city walls. The final stop is Ajloun Castle, built in 1184 AD by Saladin’s general. The castle is an example of Islamic architecture and was designed to control iron mines and defend communication routes between Jordan and Syria. After visiting Ajloun, the tour returns to Amman.
