This four-hour guided bus and walking tour takes place in central Rome’s Campo Marzio and Jewish Ghetto neighborhoods, two of the city’s oldest areas. The tour includes seven stops for tasting local foods and wines, including fresh meats, fish, vegetables, pizza, pasta, and desserts. Along the way, a local guide shares stories about the history and culture of the sites and eateries visited. The route includes visits to the Antico Quartiere Ebraico, known for its family-owned trattorias and historic landmarks. At the Portico of Octavia, guests sample dishes crafted with traditional recipes. The tour also covers Campo De' Fiori and Piazza Navona, where guests can see the Pompey Theatre, the site connected to Julius Caesar’s assassination. Additional stops include the Area Sacra di Largo Argentina, Church of St. Eustace, the Senate House of Italy, the Theatre of Marcellus, the Temple of Apollo, and the Jewish Synagogue exterior. The food experience culminates in a rich dinner served among the ruins of an ancient Roman theater. Included are wine, beer, and soft drinks at various stops.
