by Coastal Helicopters
This 3-hour helicopter tour in Juneau combines a scenic flight over the glaciers of the Juneau Icefield with a dogsled ride on Herbert Glacier. The trip begins with a helicopter departure from the airport, flying over glacier landscapes before landing at the Herbert Glacier Dog Sled camp. Here, you will meet a team of Alaskan huskies and enjoy a dogsled ride across snow-covered fields surrounded by mountain peaks. During the ride, you can choose to either stand on the sled runners or sit comfortably inside the sled. After about an hour on the glacier, the helicopter returns over Herbert Glacier to the Coastal Helicopter heliport. The tour includes a pilot, round-trip helicopter flight, a dog musher guide, boots and raincoats if needed, transportation to and from the facilities, and the dogsledding experience itself. Cruise ship passengers should note that shuttle pickup occurs one hour before the flight time. The entire experience depends on favorable weather conditions, and if canceled, an alternative time or full refund is offered.
