Overview

This full-day coach and train trip lasts about 11 and a half hours, starting at Zurich's central bus terminal. The journey heads south through the Bernese Oberland, reaching Interlaken after roughly 100 minutes. Visitors have about 25 minutes to explore Interlaken before continuing by bus to Lauterbrunnen. From Lauterbrunnen, a cogwheel train climbs the Kleine Scheidegg mountain pass. The train continues ascending to Jungfraujoch, the highest railway station in Europe, located at 11,333 feet (3,454 meters). At Jungfraujoch, guests spend around 3 hours viewing the Swiss Alps covered in snow and ice. The tour includes a 15-minute visit to the Sphinx Observatory, which overlooks the Aletsch Glacier - the longest glacier in Europe - and offers views extending to peaks in France and Italy. Visitors may choose to eat or drink at the observatory's panoramic restaurant. The Ice Palace at Jungfraujoch is accessible for about 15 minutes, allowing a walk through a glacier interior. Afterward, travelers descend by cogwheel train to Eigergletscher station, where they transfer to the V-Cableway Eiger Express gondola. This 15-minute ride leads to Grindelwald Terminal, where the coach awaits to return to Zurich, arriving in the evening.
