Overview

The Kanazawa Shirakawa-go and Gokayama Two World Heritage Villages Enjoyable 1-Day Bus Tour departs from the west exit of Kanazawa Station at 8:00 a.m. The tour includes air-conditioned coach transportation and an English-speaking staff member who provides walking maps and guidance on sights and souvenirs. The first stop is Michi-no-Eki Shirakawago, where there is a 15-minute break to visit the Gassho Museum and browse local souvenirs. From there, the bus travels to Shirakawa-go village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, allowing about two hours and 50 minutes for free walking and exploration, including a Japanese set lunch featuring local dishes from the Hida region and mountain produce. After lunch, the tour continues to Gokayama Ainokura village, another World Heritage Site, where participants have one hour for a free walk through this traditional Gassho-style settlement. The tour returns to Kanazawa Station’s west exit by approximately 3:45 p.m., completing a total duration of about seven hours and 45 minutes. Climbing the Ogimachi Castle Ruins Observatory near Shirakawa-go is optional and requires a 10 to 15-minute walk each way or a paid shuttle bus available locally. Entrance fees for attractions and meals during free time, other than the provided lunch, are not included. Infant meals are not included, but bus seats are free for children under two. The Michi-no-Eki Shirakawago stop is closed from December 29 to January 1; during this period, the stop changes to Jottekale Castleside in Toyama Prefecture. The schedule may change due to weather or road conditions.
