Overview

This luxury helicopter tour offers a full 60 to 65 minutes of doors-off flight over Kauai, providing clear, unobstructed views of the island’s landscapes. The tour begins with a check-in in Lihue 45 minutes before departure, where passengers complete a safety briefing and weight verification. Transportation to and from the heliport is included, with air conditioning provided in the vehicle. Passengers board an MD500E helicopter, which seats up to four people, and are given wrist straps for their phones to secure them during the doors-off flight. After takeoff, the helicopter passes over Nawiliwili Harbor and the historic Menehune Fishpond. Passengers can communicate with the pilot using two-way radios. The flight continues over Poipu’s Tunnel of Trees and then moves inland through Hanapepe Valley to Manawaiopuna Falls, also known as Jurassic Park Falls. The tour proceeds over Olokele Canyon and then Waimea Canyon State Park, often called the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, highlighting the canyon’s distinctive colors and vegetation. The helicopter flies directly over Waipo’o Falls, a multi-tier waterfall on the canyon’s cliffs. The route then focuses on the Na Pali Coast State Wilderness Park, spending more time here than shorter tours. The pilot flies close to the sea cliffs of Kalalau and through remote valleys, then circles the coastline for a broad view. The flight passes a seldom-seen valley, ridge, and beach along the coast where wild goats may be visible. Next, the helicopter flies near Ke'e Beach, the start of the Na Pali Coast Trail, where the pilot turns the aircraft to give all passengers a final view of the coastline. The tour continues along Tunnels Beach and its reef, known for snorkeling and scuba diving. Flying up Kauai’s North Shore, passengers see Hanalei Bay and nearby mountains with waterfalls. The helicopter then flies over Mt. Waialeale, a dormant shield volcano with a crater called the Weeping Wall, noted for heavy rainfall and many waterfalls. Before returning to Lihue airport, the flight passes Wailua Falls. Weight limits apply: a maximum of 250 pounds per individual or 400 pounds per couple; passengers exceeding these limits must purchase a Comfort Seat.
