Overview

This 10-hour tour includes pick-up and drop-off at specific hotels in Kauai. Transportation is provided in an air-conditioned vehicle with a professional driver-guide who offers live narration throughout the trip. The tour begins with a 15-minute stop at Spouting Horn, where ocean waves force saltwater through openings in lava rock. Next, the route passes panoramic views of a valley near Hanapepe, an area once explored by Charles Wilkes in 1840, featuring wild sugarcane and trees. The tour then stops for 10 minutes at the Swinging Bridge, a suspension bridge built in the early 1900s for local residents to cross the river. Afterward, the group visits the town of Waimea, known for its Hawaiian cowboy history and local shops. At Waimea Canyon State Park, the tour spends about 45 minutes at Pu‘uhinahina Lookout, which serves as the main viewpoint while Waimea Canyon Lookout is closed for repairs until December 2025. Additional time is allocated for other viewpoints in the park. The next stop is Koke'e State Park, where guests have about one hour. Visitors can take an easy nature walk on a trail that begins with a gentle uphill walk of about 30 yards before leveling out. Lunch is on your own at Koke’e Lodge, where a 10% discount applies for tour guests. The tour includes a three-dollar donation to the Koke’e Natural History Museum to support preservation efforts. After Koke'e, there is a 20-minute stop at Waimea Canyon Trail lookout point. Then the tour takes a 10-minute break at Kekaha Beach Park to relax on the sand. Next is a 15-minute visit to Russian Fort Elizabeth State Historical Park, a trading site established by Russians in 1815. The final stop is the Kauai Coffee Company, the largest coffee farm in the United States, where guests spend about 35 minutes sampling Kauai coffee. Lunch, gratuities, and port transfers are not included. Special requests or ADA accommodations should be arranged at least seven days before the tour date.
