Overview

This full-day tour lasts about 10 hours and starts with a boat ride on the Wailua River in an open-air vessel. Passengers see tropical plants while the captain explains ancient Hawaiian history related to the river and surrounding temples. The boat continues to Fern Grotto, a mountain cavern with Boston Ferns growing from its roof. A Hawaiian Wedding Song is performed here. The tour then visits Opaekaa Falls, a 151-foot-tall waterfall that drops into a hidden pool and is easy to access. Lunch follows on your own in Old Koloa Town, a historic area with a relaxed atmosphere. After lunch, the group travels to Waimea Canyon State Park to view the deep red soil and green valley gorges. Since the Waimea Canyon Lookout is closed for repairs until December 2025, the tour stops at Pu‘uhinahina Lookout instead, along with several additional photo stops for varied views. Next is Hanapepe Valley Lookout, offering wide views of the valley and sugarcane fields. The tour finishes at Kauai Coffee Company, the largest coffee farm in the U.S., where guests can taste Kauai coffee, and then at Spouting Horn, where ocean waves force water through lava rock openings to create water jets. Included are hotel pick-up and drop-off at select Kauai hotels, guided narration by a professional driver, air-conditioned transport, and admission for the Wailua River boat ride. Lunch and gratuities are not included.
