Overview

This 2.5-hour Alaska wildlife safari and sightseeing tour in Ketchikan begins at the Salmon Ladder, where visitors watch salmon swim upstream against strong currents to complete their life cycle. The tour then continues to Herring Cove, a prime spot for viewing bears feeding on salmon during the seasonal run, as well as bald eagles and other native wildlife. Next, the group stops at Rotary Beach Park to observe marine life such as whales, eagles, and otters while enjoying coastal views. The tour proceeds to the Saxman Tribal House, which features one of the largest collections of authentic totem poles and offers insight into Tlingit culture and Indigenous art. The final stop is Creek Street, a boardwalk built on stilts above Ketchikan Creek. This historic area was once the town’s red-light district and now offers views of wildlife including harbor seals and bald eagles, especially during the summer salmon run when thousands of fish swim upstream. The tour vehicle includes bottled water, snacks, on-board WiFi, and air conditioning for passenger comfort throughout the trip.
