The Machame Route on Kilimanjaro is often called the "Whiskey Route" and is chosen by hikers seeking a more challenging path with better views than the Marangu Route. This route involves camping in tents rather than staying in huts. Porters carry all equipment and supplies, and they set up the tents at each campsite. Meals are prepared by a cook and served either in a dining tent or outdoors on a blanket. The climb takes about six days (144 hours) and includes stops with varied landscapes, from sunsets at Shira to the Barranco Wall near Kibo. The trekking is done with a team including qualified guides, porters, a cook, and waiters who manage accommodation and meals. All meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and boiled water are provided on the mountain. The tour also includes return transportation between Moshi and the mountain starting and finishing points, airport transfers to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), and two nights’ hotel accommodation in Moshi before and after the climb.
