Overview

This 1.5-hour sake tasting and food pairing takes place in a private sake tasting room in Kyoto. A certified Sake Sommelier leads the session, guiding participants through the tasting of seven different sake varieties chosen to highlight a range of flavors. Traditional otsumami snacks are served alongside the sake to demonstrate how sake is commonly enjoyed with food in Japan. The sommelier explains how to identify personal sake preferences and how to read sake labels and menus, even when they are only in Japanese. The small group setting allows for focused attention and questions. Participants receive a sake cheat sheet and tasting notes to help them confidently select and order sake after the session. Transportation and hotel pickup are not included. Non-alcoholic drinks are provided for guests under the legal drinking age or those who arrive by car or bicycle. A vegetarian snack option is available upon request.
