Overview

The 2.5-hour SoCal Riviera Electric Bike Tour begins by arriving 15 minutes early to pick up a powerful electric bike, receive operating instructions, and collect snacks and cold bottled water. The ride starts in La Jolla, a coastal community known as part of Southern California's Riviera. The first stop is La Jolla Cove, where participants spend about 20 minutes observing California sea lions and learning about the local underwater park and the history of La Jolla's artist colony. Next, the tour cycles to the Children's Pool for 15 minutes to see seals sharing the coastal area with visitors. The route continues to Windansea Beach for 10 minutes to view the surf and take photos. Afterward, the group rides along the rocky shoreline of Bird Rock for 5 minutes, exploring tide pools and viewing coastal homes. The path then goes through a landscaped neighborhood for about 15 minutes, passing playgrounds and desert plants such as prickly pear cactus and agave. The guide provides information about the area near La Jolla High School before the ride ascends Nautilus Drive to reach Mount Soledad National Veterans Memorial. At Mount Soledad, the tour pauses for 30 minutes to take in panoramic views of San Diego and Mexico and to learn about the memorial honoring veterans. The tour includes a professional guide, an electric bike with a handlebar bag for personal items, snacks, and cold bottled water. Gratuities are not included.
