This 2.5-hour boat trip in La Paz uses a 22-foot panga named Aventura I to approach whale sharks. A certified and experienced SunRider team guides the excursion, providing a chance to swim near these large marine animals. The tour includes all necessary equipment, bottled water, snacks, passenger insurance, and a professional guide. Participants should be at least 8 years old and able to swim well. Departure times vary due to environmental regulations protecting whale sharks and may be scheduled at 9 am, 11 am, 1 pm, or 3 pm. The start time is confirmed the day before the tour. Waiting times to enter the whale shark feeding area can range from 30 minutes up to 3 hours. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Whale-Shark Swim
The largest fish in the world, the whale shark, inhabits La Paz Bay. Groups of five people swim with these animals for about 50 minutes, following government rules to avoid touching them and to stay as close as possible.
