This four-hour walking tour takes place in Lisbon’s Mouraria neighborhood and downtown area, focusing on Portuguese food and wine. The route covers approximately 2.3 kilometers on moderate terrain and includes six stops at local taverns, historic squares, and streets known for their culinary offerings. Participants taste at least 12 local dishes such as pork sandwiches, samosas, cheeses, traditional Portuguese soup, chorizo, codfish and chickpea salad, codfish fritters, custard tarts, lupins, and bread. Alongside the food, six Portuguese wines and local drinks are served, including green, red, white, and rosé wines, local beer, cherry liquor, port wine, and water. Non-alcoholic options are available as well. The tour is led in English by guides born and raised in Lisbon who provide historical context and restaurant recommendations. Vegetarians can be accommodated upon request.
