Overview

London is home to two of England’s most prominent royal residences, Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle. This day trip lasts about eight and a half hours and travels by air-conditioned coach between the two sites. The tour begins at Windsor Castle, the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world and an official residence of His Majesty The King. Visitors enter early to explore the castle’s State Apartments, which contain priceless artworks and royal treasures. The grounds and interiors reveal more than 1,000 years of British royal history. After touring the apartments, the group visits St. George's Chapel, a Gothic chapel famous for the 2018 wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and the resting place of Queen Elizabeth II. Next, the coach heads back to London for a visit to Buckingham Palace. The tour includes entry to the State Rooms, open only during the summer months, where visitors see paintings, porcelain, furniture, and other items from the Royal Collection. This summer, a special exhibition titled The King’s Tour Artists is on display in the State Rooms, featuring over 70 artworks from the King’s personal collection created by 42 artists during 69 royal overseas tours. The guide provides commentary during travel but does not enter the State Apartments or Buckingham Palace due to regulations. Visitors explore Buckingham Palace independently with palace staff available on site for questions. The tour includes all entrance fees and expert local guidance, but food, drinks, hotel pickup, and gratuities are not provided.
