by Mar Adentro Diving
The tour begins with a meeting with the snorkeling guide in Mahahual, Costa Maya, Mexico. Participants receive all necessary snorkeling equipment, including masks and fins. The snorkeling session lasts about 90 minutes in the coastal waters near Mahahual. During this time, guests will encounter sea turtles in their natural habitat. The guide ensures safety throughout the activity and provides assistance or allows a slower pace if needed. Bottled water is included to keep participants hydrated during the tour.
Reef-Lagoon Snorkeling
The snorkeling occurs inside the reef lagoon with an average depth of 1.80 meters, featuring calm waters shielded from the open sea by the reef crest. Participants swim to two areas: one with sand and algae patches where hawksbill turtles can be seen, and another near the reef crest with coral heads and tropical fish. The water portion lasts one hour, plus a 15-minute boat ride each way, totaling one and a half hours. Equipment and guide are included.
