This full-day, 8-hour tour combines a 4-wheel drive adventure with an afternoon of white-water rafting on the river. The day begins in Moab with a 4WD drive through the Island in the Sky district. The guide navigates rugged trails including parts of White Rim Road and Shafer Trail, which feature steep switchbacks and views over 1,000 feet above the river. Along the way, the group stops to see ancient rock art created by Pueblo peoples and views of Fossil Point. This morning portion lasts about four hours. After the off-road drive, the group has a buffet lunch at the river. Following lunch, the tour switches to inflatable rafts or kayaks (if requested in advance) for a guided white-water rafting trip through Westwater Canyon on the Colorado River. Before rafting, guests receive safety instructions and are fitted with Coast Guard approved life jackets and river gear including dry bags. The rafting segment lasts about four hours. Throughout the day, guides provide information about the natural environment and historical sites in Canyonlands National Park and along the river corridor. The tour ends back in Moab after the rafting portion.

Meet in central Moab and board a 4WD vehicle for a morning drive through the Island in the Sky district of Canyonlands National Park, lasting about four hours.
White Rim Road
The guide drives over rugged terrain and steep switchbacks to reach White Rim Road, a 100-mile (160-km) loop located about 1,000 feet (300 meters) above the Colorado and Green Rivers and 1,000 feet below the mesa. The route includes views of Fossil Point, portions of the White Rim Road, and the Shafer Trail from the river to the mesa top. Stops include viewing ancient Pueblo rock art.
Westwater Canyon
Westwater Canyon is the location for the white-water rafting section, known for its rapids near Moab.
Fisher Towers
After lunch by the river, participants switch to inflatable rafts or kayaks. They receive safety instructions and are outfitted with life jackets and gear before a guided four-hour rafting trip down the Colorado River.
Utah Scenic Byway 279 Rock Art Sites
The route includes stops at rock art sites accessible along paths suitable for all skill levels.
