Overview

This is a 5-hour tour in Panama City that begins with a 90-minute ride on The PAPI, a high-speed motorboat, across Gatun Lake in the Panama Canal area. During the boat ride, participants will observe wildlife such as monkeys, sloths, toucans, and other birds near the Monkey Islands and along the lake. The boat passes close to large vessels navigating the canal. After the boat safari, the tour continues with a visit to Gamboa, a former US military facility. There is a snack and restroom break at Gamboa before walking about 2 kilometers on the Bird Watcher Pipeline trail through the jungle habitat to see local plants and animals. The tour also includes a stop at the Centennial Bridge near the Pedro Miguel locks. Here, participants can view the cable-stayed bridge that spans 1,052 meters over the canal, with a main span of 420 meters and 80 meters of clearance for ships passing underneath. Snacks are included during the tour. The tour operates in all weather conditions, and military-grade jungle ponchos are provided if it rains. Hotel pickups are available from select locations, including Airbnb and hotels in Casco Viejo and the Financial District, when GPS coordinates and building names are provided in advance. Gratuities and a required boat ride fee are not included.
