This 7 to 8-hour tour begins in Barcelona with a check-in at the Castlexperience office near Nord Bus Station. Transportation is provided by a shared, air-conditioned bus. The first stop is Montserrat Monastery, where a local English-speaking guide leads a two-hour tour including entrance to the Basilica. After the guided visit, there is free time to try traditional foods made by Montserrat monks or local farmers while enjoying the mountain surroundings. The ascent to Montserrat includes a ride on the cogwheel train to the mountain top. After regrouping, the tour continues to a winery located in a 10th-century castle, typically Oller del Mas or another similar family-owned boutique winery. The winery visit lasts about two hours and includes a walk through the vineyards and an explanation of the wine-making process. Guests will taste three wines, including award-winning ecological varieties and revived ancient local grape types.
