The tour starts with a boat cruise on the Salzach River, departing from the Marco Feingold Steg in Salzburg's Old City. The cruise lasts about 40 minutes and passes by the town's historical skyline, natural riverbanks, the exclusive southern residential area, and views of the Hagen and Tennen mountains, part of the northern Berchtesgadener Alps. The boat returns to the starting point with a short speedboat display. Next, guests take the funicular up to Fortress Hohensalzburg; the ascent and descent by funicular are included, but guests must not walk up or down. Upon arrival, dinner is served in the Panorama Restaurant, located immediately to the right after exiting the funicular. Dinner seating is arranged by booking group size, with individual tables. Dinner times vary seasonally: 6:00 pm from January to April and September to December, 6:30 pm from May to August. In good weather, the VIP dinner may be served on the panorama terrace. Two menus are available: the Classic Dinner includes mini bread rolls with two spreads, beef consommé with semolina dumpling, turkey roulade with truffle mashed potatoes and fruity sauce, and a Mozart dessert. The VIP Dinner includes mini bread rolls with two spreads, white wine soup with roasted Marcona almonds, a choice of braised veal "Tafelspitz" with port wine sauce, potato gratin, and asparagus or Salzburger trout fillet with parsley potatoes, followed by a fluffy egg soufflé with vanilla cream and berries. Special dietary needs should be communicated to the restaurant staff during the meal. Drinks are not included. After dinner, the 90-minute "Best of Mozart" concert begins in the fortress chambers, with a 15-minute intermission. Concert start times are 8:00 pm from April and September through December, and 8:30 pm from May to August. The concert features performances by the Salzburger Mozart Ensemble and the Mozart Chamber Orchestra Salzburg. VIP Dinner guests receive an evening program booklet and one glass of sparkling wine during the concert intermission. This full evening lasts about 4 hours and 10 minutes and offers views of Salzburg from the fortress alongside music and dining.
