Overview

This six-hour bus and boat tour starts in Union Square, San Francisco, heading across the Golden Gate Bridge with a stop at the Golden Gate North Vista Point for photos of the bridge, Alcatraz Island, and the city skyline. The coach passes through notable neighborhoods including Van Ness Avenue, Cow Hollow, and Crissy Field, offering views of the bay and bridge along the way. After crossing into Marin County through the Robin Williams (Rainbow) Tunnel, the tour stops for a 90-minute visit to Muir Woods National Monument. Here, travelers walk among coastal redwoods and may see wildlife such as Stellar’s jays, ladybugs, horsetail ferns, and banana slugs. Admission to Muir Woods is included. Next, the group spends one hour in Sausalito, a Mediterranean-style village known for its shops, galleries, and waterfront restaurants. Visitors can explore the boardwalk on their own and may choose to return to San Francisco by ferry at their leisure (ferry cost not included). The bus portion ends at Pier 39 in Fisherman’s Wharf, where the narrated Bay Cruise departs. The one-hour cruise sails near Alcatraz Island without landing, travels under the Golden Gate Bridge, and offers views of the San Francisco skyline from the water. The tour includes air-conditioned bus transport to Muir Woods and Sausalito, the narrated drive, the Muir Woods admission, and the Bay Cruise ticket (valid for flexible boarding times).
