Overview

This full-day small-group bus tour covers several well-known San Francisco sites with an option to add Alcatraz Island. The tour begins with visits to San Francisco’s historic neighborhoods including North Beach, Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, and Pacific Heights, where guests see Billionaire's Row and the Mrs. Doubtfire house. The route continues through the Presidio and stops at Fort Point, located beneath the Golden Gate Bridge, offering photo opportunities and views of this WWII fort. Next, the tour crosses the Golden Gate Bridge and stops at Muir Woods National Monument for about 90 minutes to walk among the ancient redwood trees. Afterward, the group drives through Sausalito with a chance for a lunch break. The tour includes live commentary from a local guide on Bay Area history and culture throughout, and air-conditioned minibuses provide comfortable transport. Guests who select the Alcatraz option will be dropped off at Pier 33 in the afternoon for a ferry ride and an audio-guided tour of the former prison lasting about three hours. Alcatraz tickets include ferry transport and the self-guided audio tour, but a valid government ID or passport is required to redeem the tickets. Muir Woods entrance fees are not included and must be paid at the park unless holders of the National Parks Pass or children 15 and under. Gratuities are optional and not included.
