Overview

This walking tour in the Narvarte neighborhood of Mexico City lasts about three and a half hours and covers approximately two kilometers. It begins at a local taquería in Narvarte Poniente, where participants try volcanes - crispy tortillas cooked over charcoal and topped with cheese and poblano peppers. The tour continues with tacos al pastor cooked on a traditional open-flame spit and suadero tacos from vendors who have operated in the area for decades. Next, the group visits a lively cantina to learn about Mexico City’s cantina culture while enjoying one included chela (beer) or cocktail. The final stop is a cozy neighborhood restaurant where a local chef leads a private mezcal tasting featuring four one-ounce mezcals, accompanied by three appetizers and one dessert per person. Filtered water is provided throughout the tour. Food portions are sufficient for a large dinner. Generous tips are included for all street vendors and restaurant staff. Transport to and from the meeting point is not included. Souvenirs, additional personal drinks beyond the included beverages, and guide tips are also not included. Dietary accommodations for vegetarians, gluten-free, and pescatarians are available upon advance notice.
