Overview

The Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum is positioned as an Asian art and culture museum, located in Taibao City, Chiayi. Its park features a streamlined design inspired by traditional ink wash paintings. The total area is approximately 70 hectares, including a 20-hectare museum area and a 50-hectare park. The museum building was designed by architect Kris Yao. Most exhibits at the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum are borrowed from the Northern Branch's three collection units (calligraphy and painting, artifacts, and documents) to create large-scale thematic exhibitions that are both high in quality and quantity. This ticket package includes a special exhibition ticket. The Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum regularly hosts special exhibitions, introducing classic exhibits from various themes. Groups of ten or more people must purchase group admission tickets to enter and must rent and wear an audio guide system as required to be granted admission. Photography and videography are permitted in the exhibition halls of this museum without the use of auxiliary equipment such as flashlights, supplementary lighting equipment, tripods, or selfie sticks. Artifacts not permitted for photography will be marked with a prohibition sign. When taking photos, there must be no actions that affect safety routes or the viewing rights of others. If the filming is for commercial purposes or has other special needs, an application should be submitted in advance. When entering the exhibition hall, visitors should follow the relevant regulations of these guidelines and cooperate with the instructions of service personnel. If any of the following violations occur, this institution may issue a warning, stop the action, refuse entry, or order departure from the hall: It is strictly forbidden to bring any prohibited or dangerous items, food, liquids, bottles, cans, etc., into the exhibition hall. Without permission, it is strictly forbidden to provide any guided tours or explanation services without renting the audio guide system, in order to maintain peace and quiet within the exhibition hall.
