by Chiang Mai Mountain Biking Kayaks
This No.1 Chiang Mai Doi Suthep Downhill MTB Adventure with Lunch starts with a 9:30 am pickup from hotels in Chiang Mai. Participants travel to a city center Pro shop where they test ride high-quality mountain bikes and receive a safety briefing. After orientation and a Google Earth overview, the group departs by air-conditioned vehicle for about 45 minutes to Doi Suthep National Park, located at 1,550 meters above sea level. At the park, the downhill mountain bike ride begins on rugged jeep trails and forest paths. The route covers more than 20 kilometers and passes through jungle canopies, plantations, and remote Hmong hill tribe villages. The first stop is Ban Chang Khian village, where riders take a break to meet local residents, sample coffee from a hilltop plantation, and enjoy views of the Mae Ping valley. The ride then continues downhill with some short uphill sections through highland jungle and plantations, offering various picturesque views. The descent ends at Lake Huay Tueng Thao, situated at 370 meters elevation. Here, participants rest and have a Thai lunch with vegetarian and vegan options at a lakeside restaurant. There is also time to swim or relax by the lake before returning to Chiang Mai in the air-conditioned vehicle. The entire experience lasts about nine hours. Safety gear including helmets, gloves, knee and elbow pads are provided, along with hydration backpacks and bottled water. The tour is led by Chiang Mai’s No.1 professional mountain bike guides certified in first aid and CPR. A support truck follows the group to provide assistance and secure storage for valuables. The tour includes transportation, lunch, safety equipment, hydration, professional guides, and the option to test ride mountain bikes before departure. Participants should provide a passport number at check-in for insurance purposes. Additional gear such as hiking shoes, padded shorts, and jerseys are available for purchase at the Pro shop. Doi Suthep National Park and lake fees, as well as insurance, are not included.
