Overview

This full-day tour from Ubud lasts between eight and ten hours and includes transportation in a comfortable air-conditioned van. The journey begins with a ninety-minute visit to Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, a lakeside temple built to honor Dewi Danu, the lake goddess. The lake itself was formed by a volcanic eruption around thirty thousand years ago. Next, the tour stops at two separate viewpoints of the Twin Lakes, Buyan and Tamblingan, with two thirty-minute stops for photos and sightseeing. Afterward, the tour continues to Banyumala Waterfalls in North Bali, where visitors have about two hours to swim in the clear water; bringing a swimsuit and towel is recommended. Following the waterfalls, the tour drives through the Jatiluwih Green Land area, a seven-hundred-hectare site nominated for UNESCO World Heritage status due to its traditional Subak irrigation system. This stop includes about two hours to view the terraced rice fields and pass through local villages. The next stop is Batu Bolong, a rock formation with a natural hollow creating a bridge-like appearance, located in Tabanan Regency; the visit lasts about thirty minutes. The final stop is Tanah Lot Temple, a sea temple on an offshore rock said to have been established by the fifteenth-century Hindu priest Nirartha. Visitors spend about one hour here. The tour includes lunch, bottled water, all entrance fees and taxes, and an English-speaking driver who also serves as a guide and photographer. Gratuities are not included.
