Overview

This small-group Northern Lights tour in Reykjavik lasts about four hours and travels by minibus with no more than 19 guests. The operator’s guides use live aurora forecasts to select locations away from crowds, driving up to an hour to reach the best spots. During the wait for the aurora, guests are offered hot chocolate and traditional Icelandic pastries and can stay warm with Icelandic wool blankets. The guides are also professional photographers who take pictures of guests under the Northern Lights when conditions permit. These photos are sent by email within eight days after the tour. If the lights do not appear during the tour, guests may return for a free second attempt, subject to availability. Pickup and drop-off are included at designated meeting points in Reykjavik. The guides provide live commentary throughout the tour. Since restroom access outside urban areas is limited, guests should plan accordingly. The tour runs at night, so warm, waterproof clothing and accessories such as hats, gloves, and scarves are recommended.
